Okay, they aren’t a jam band, but I had to share this nugget on one of my favorite 90′s bands, Filter.
Richard Patrick and company are releasing their latest album, The Trouble With Angels, the week of this August 20 show. I’ve had the pleasure of listening to the album a few times, and while it certainly doesn’t live up to classic Filter, it’s much better than the faulty Anthems for the Damned album that marked Filter’s return to music a few years ago.
But on to the good news: Filter will be headlining the August edition of Hartford’s monthly summer block parties, much like they did a few years ago when Anthems hit stores.
These block parties aren’t amazing (I went to one earlier this summer — overpriced and undersized beer, bad music, etc.), but with Filter playing things will surely be kicked up a notch. The event is held at the corner of Union Place and Allyn Street.
Hopefully admission is free before a certain time, just like it was in May.
Back to the jams.
